Truthfully speaking, this is a complete myth that dates back to the middle ages. Black cats aren’t only associated with bad luck and evil though, in some cultures they are celebrated and seen as a sign of good luck. Black cats are bad luck.

Black cats in western history have often been looked upon as a symbol of evil omens.
